Shark Tank Statistics
About three in five pitches reach an agreement on air. A typical recorded offer is much smaller than the biggest deals suggest, and some packages combine equity cash with financing. Here is what the US pitch index shows about deal rates, amounts and the sharks involved.

Deal rate by season
Season 1 recorded accepted deals on 42.2% of its pitches; Season 17 reached 75%. The chart compares seasons with complete outcome fields, while the ongoing Season 18 appears separately in the table.
Deal rate means accepted on-air deals divided by known outcomes, including non-equity gifts. An unknown result is not a no-deal result. Seasons with incomplete outcomes are omitted from this chart.

Deals with royalties or more than one shark
The index flags 91 accepted agreements with a royalty component (9.7% of deals). It also lists 684 solo-shark agreements and 255 with two or more named participants. The amount and equity alone do not describe these structures; use the royalty-deal list or an individual pitch record for the available terms.
How to read these figures
The figures use the stored US pitch index through 2026-10-14. Australia is counted separately. โDealโ means a recorded accepted on-air agreement, not completed funding. Later closing, changed terms and business outcomes require a separate company follow-up.
Headline amounts can combine equity cash and financing. For example, dbest's recorded package combines $350,000 for 20% equity with a $2,000,000 credit facility at 15% interest. Its cash-for-equity offer and its credit facility are different parts of the proposal. Company-hosted reprint attributed to Erica Abott, June 8, 2021: $350,000 for 20% equity plus $2 million financing at 15% interest.
Main and guest participant amounts add to $258,522,156, compared with $271,342,166 at company level. 46 offers have a company amount but no participant allocation. The company amounts are not fully assigned to individual sharks in the stored records, and missing shares are not assumed equal. Royalty and loan details are incompletely captured, so their flags do not describe every financing arrangement.
